        New York to hold 'Tibet Impression' photography exhibition

        A cultural exhibition of photography titled "Tibet Impression" is expected to be held to show present Tibet and its development in Queens District, N.Y. on June 26, 2013.

        Altogether nearly 100 selected photos aired to New York will be exhibited at the exhibition to provide update information of Tibet to foreign people, according to Ma Yue, president of the China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification (New York).

        The "Tibet Impression" photography exhibition is supposed to display the natural landscapes of the snow-capped mountains and mysterious cultural landscapes, presenting a real Tibet to New Yorkers.

        Jointly launched by the China Overseas Friendship Association, Chinese Consulate General in New York, China Council for the Promotion of Peaceful Reunification (New York) and Tibetan Association of North America and sponsored by Chinese Community Association of eastern America, the event is a showcase that demonstrates the great achievements Tibet has made in economy, science and technology.

        Ma Yue said Tibet is a pure and holy land in western China, where Tibetan people lived with generations of wisdom and hard work. Tibetan culture, formed though thousands of years of civilization, has become an important part of the treasure house of profound Chinese culture.

        Dechen Tulku, president of the Tibetan Association of North America, said that besides the exhibition, people could also enjoy elegant Tibetan singing and dancing performances, yak-butter tea and delicious Tibetan snacks.

        In addition, Dechen Tulku would also deliver a speech to explain Tibetan culture, religion and social and economic development.
