The Lianzhou Foto 2012 photography event will run Nov 23-Dec 12 in Lianzhou, Guangdong province.

Photos by more than 100 professional and amateur photographers from around the world will be displayed, and lectures and seminars will be held.

The festival has expanded to include moving images because its goal "has always been to push forward photography's boundaries", festival director Duan Yuting says. "A photo can be viewed as a single-frame movie. And a full-length movie can be considered a flowing serial of photos."
