BEIJING - Senior leaders of the Communist Party of China (CPC) are promoting the Party's "mass-line" campaign among the masses, according to a CPC statement Thursday.
Members of the Standing Committee of the CPC Central Committee have immersed themselves among the masses, demonstrating their resolve to clean up undesirable work styles, including formalism, bureaucracy, hedonism and extravagance.
The social ethos has improved following the Party's "mass-line" campaign, which was launched in June of last year to boost ties between CPC officials and the public, the statement said.
The statement cited a visit to central China's Henan Province by Xi Jinping, general secretary of the CPC Central Committee, in March and said that Xi held in-depth discussions with local cadres and people while listening to their suggestions.
During the visit, Xi stressed solving problems while exchanging ideas and boosting confidence in overcoming hardship.
Self-criticism is key to the "mass-line" campaign, said the statement, adding that officials pointed out their own governing shortcomings and those of others.
