BEIJING - Wan Qingliang was dismissed from his post as Party chief of Guangzhou city in south China's Guangdong province, said the Organization Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee Monday.
The CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection (CCDI) announced Friday that Wan was under investigation for suspected serious violations of disciplines and laws.
Born in 1964, Wan is a native of Wuhua County, Guangdong. He had successively served as the Party chief of Jiaoling County, Jieyang City and vice governor of Guangdong Province before he became Party chief of Guangzhou, Guangdong's provincial capital, in December 2011.
