A deputy police chief in a county of Fujian province is under investigation by judicial authorities on corruption allegations, the provincial anti-graft department said on Wednesday.
Zheng Houfen, vice-head of Lianjiang county's public security bureau, has been under investigation by the Fuzhou city's disciplinary commission since early April. The disciplinary commission found him to have accepted bribes and transferred him to the judicial authorities for further investigation, the provincial department of supervision said.
In China, officials suspected of corruption are usually initially probed by the Party's disciplinary commission before being transferred to prosecutors.
