Shaanxi province is to launch overseas student scholarships to encourage more foreign students to study in the province, Xinhua News Agency reported on Thursday.

The aim of the scholarships is to make the province an important destination for overseas students.

Shaanxi will also send more teachers and students abroad for studies and exchanges.

The provincial government says it will continue to support its universities in enhancing educational exchanges with foreign countries and open Confucius institutes overseas.
