KUNMING - Two tourists were injured by a group of wild elephants at a scenic spot in southwest China's Yunnan Province on Saturday afternoon, local authorities said.
The accident happened at the Wild Elephant Valley in the Dai Autonomous Prefecture of Xishuangbanna at about 2 p.m. when the elephants trying to cross a river hit a family of five, according to the prefecture forest police.
A woman suffered from a comminuted fracture in her right shoulder and a man was also slightly injured. They are receiving treatment at a local hospital, according to the police.
The elephants were driven away by the police.
