        Land reform in China

        Updated: 2013-11-14 15:28

Actually, I think China's land reform is a precondition of urbanization. More rural people will sell their land to others, which will urge mechanization in agriculture and improve products.

But this reform needs another two reforms: hukou reform and tax reform. Hukou reform will let rural people willing to stay in cities get social insurance. On the other hand, land reform will raise the cost of local governments' land finance. Tax reform is necessary. Central government should leave more taxes with local governments. That's hard, but we are waiting.
