A large number of Neolithic artifacts went on exhibit at a Nanjing museum in Jiangsu province.
They included a 4,000-year-old pot, probably used to boil or store food.
The newly opened museum has more than 30,000 items on display, most of which were unearthed at a prehistoric site in Nanjing's Gaochun district.
Archaeologists found more than 400 human remains at the site in 1997 as well as jade, pottery and stone tools.
Gaochun has five human settlement sites of archaeological interest, most located next to a river or lake.
