Asian political parties conference closes
XI'AN - A special gathering of The International Conference of Asian Political Parties (ICAPP) concluded in northwest China's Xi'an city on Friday with a proposal calling for green and common development of Asia.
The two-day event was hosted by the Communist Party of China (CPC) with the theme "Promote green development and build a beautiful Asia together."
More than 200 representatives from political parties of Asian and Pacific countries as well related organizations exchanged ideas and experiences of ecological and environmental protection.
They also discussed how to promote joint work among political parties so as to strengthen international cooperation.
Delegates produced a four-point proposal which was adopted upon the conference's conclusion and called on participating parties to prioritize green development, pursue inclusive development, jointly build a beautiful Asia and and innovate in the development mode.
The ICAPP is a forum of political parties from Asian and Oceanic countries. It was initiated by Philippines political party the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats in September 2000.
The CPC hosted the organization's general assembly in 2004 in Beijing, as well as two special conferences in 2010 and 2011.
