CHANGCHUN - A coal mine flooding occurred in Northeast China's Jilin province Friday morning, trapping 12 miners underground, according to the local authorities.
There were 70 workers under the Fengxing Coal Mine, a township-owned mine in Jiaohe city, when the flooding occurred at 11 am. Fifty-eight workers managed to escape, the sources said.
The rescue work is underway.
