An exhibition of local brands was held Friday in Hohhot, capital city of
Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Locally-developped famous brands, such as Yili
Group, Mengniu Diary Co Ltd, King Deer Cashmere Company, Erdos cashmere group,
took part in the event.
The show, part of the 129-day Brand Promotion
Tour initiated by the Ministry of Commerce, displayed achievements and products
of Inner Mongolia enterprises.
The tour, which is expected to cover 51
cities across the country, arrived in Hohhot Thursday afternoon and a ceremony
was held to launch brand promotion activities in the region.
Vice
Commerce Minister Yi Xiaozhun spoke highly of Inner Mongolia's achievements in
brand building.
"Inner Mongolia has achieved solid progress in the
restructuring of its industry," said Yi, "Based on its resources advantages and
technique innovation, the region has cultivated a number of famous brands both
at home and abroad, " he noted.
According to statistics, out of the 605
national famous brands in China, 15 of them were from Inner Mongolia, leading
the 14 provinces and regions in West China.
As part of the Brand
Promotion Tour, 600 million yuan will be earmarked to the provinces involved in
support of the development of self-owned brands. Specifically, each province
will get at least 5 million yuan, according to earlier
reports.
