        Chery automobile: No end but beginning

        Founded in 1997, Chery Automobile Co., Ltd. specialized in the production and operation of automobiles and auto components. The total assets have amounted to 11.8 billion yuan.

        "There is always no end but beginning in the automobile industry, so choosing Chery means choosing hardship," Anhui Chery Automobile Co., Ltd President Yin Tongyao once said.

        On November 12, 2004, an international consulting company - CCID Co., Ltd.-- issued the Report on Brand Competitiveness of Chinese Vehicles, saying that the overall brand competitiveness of Chery exceeds most international brands, ranks 6th in China, 1st among own brands.

        As one of the leading home-grown preeminent brands, Chery persists and pursues for the policy of "providing zero-defect products and all-around service to clients" that should be the consistent objects of each staff, both its brand image and benefit thus are promoted.

        Li said Chery is also actively and positively exploring the global market. "A project of sports marketing now has been launched in parts of Arabic countries like Syria."

        "Chery acts in Arabic soccer league as an important advertisement sponsor," he added.

        Chery now has introduced six types of car onto the market: Eastar, Tiggo, A5, Cowin, V5, and QQ. The present production capacity for whole vehicle and gear box is respectively at 400,000 and 300,000 units per year. In 2005, Chery achieved a sales volume of 189,100 cars with a total increase rate of 118%, and exported 18,000 cars overseas, ranking No.1 in the export of domestically made cars.
