Carrie Underwood wants to adopt
Carrie Underwood wants to adopt.
The singer - who married NHL player Mike Fisher in July 2010 - would love to take in a disadvantaged child, but not until she has children of her own.
She told website Hollyscoop: "I would love to adopt someday. I've told Mike this. I would love for us to be able to have a couple of kids and for them to grow up a little bit and we all as a family decide that's what is best for us. I would love to be able to adopt, not right now. I'm talking years if not decades from now."
The 28-year-old star says she was warned married life would be "hard" but insists she and her spouse are enjoying every minute so far.
She added: "Everyone says the first month is the hardest, or the fourth month or the eighth month. We're just enjoying it."
Carrie has previously revealed she and Mike want to wait before having children.
Last year, she admitted: "Oh, it's going to be a while. The other night, Mike was with some friends and their kids, and he sent me a funny text saying, 'Watching my friend's kids ... let's wait a while."
