Sweden: Princess Madeleine to attend royal wedding
STOCKHOLM – Sweden's Royal Court says Princess Madeleine, who left Sweden after breaking off her engagement with lawyer Jonas Bergstrom in April, is returning to her homeland to attend her older sister's wedding.
In a statement Saturday, the court says Madeleine "is delighted" to attend Crown Princess Victoria's wedding on June 19. She also thanked the Swedish people "for all their support." The court didn't say where she was returning from, but media reports suggest she's been in the United States.
The break up was announced April 24 amid reports that Bergstrom had been unfaithful. The court has not commented on the reports.
Madeleine, 28, is third in line to the Swedish throne, after Victoria and her brother Prince Carl Philip. Her father is King Carl XVI Gustaf.
