After a long drawn out affair, the Apple iPhone will finally be available on China Mobile, China's largest mobile phone carrier. The first fruits of the partnership will include the China Mobile version of Apple's latest iPhones, the 5C and the 5S.
The deal opens up China Mobile's over 740 million subscribers to Apple while giving the same subscribers the choice of an iPhone. According to reports, preorders for the devices have already surpassed the 1 million mark.
Virtually the same devices as the ones that launched last fall, the China Mobile version features a new radio chipset allowing the phones to connect to China Mobile's latest 4G LTE service.
4G LTE is the successor to third generation mobile communication standards. It promises to have at least three times the speed of 3G, providing faster downloads and quicker load times.
In our test of the China Mobile iPhone 5s, we compared it to another iPhone running China Unicom 3G. The China Mobile phone loaded webpages and videos much faster than its Unicom counterpart.
