Shenyang Customs said on Monday that total import and export value of Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province, reached 54.98 billion yuan ($8.96 billion) in the first seven months of 2014, a year-on-year increase of 17.8 percent.
Export volume totaled 28.34 billion yuan, up 35.7 percent, and import volume hit 26.64 billion, up 3.2 percent. According to Shenyang Customs, Shenyang foreign trade growth was 14.4 percentage points higher than that of Liaoning province. The capital's foreign trade deficit was 1.7 billion yuan.
Exports to the Association of South-East Asian Nations increased 1.2 times compared to the same period of last year. Exports to the United States, the European Union, Korea and Japan also rose, with year-on-year increases of 36.1 percent, 22.8 percent, 25 percent and 14.4 percent, respectively.
