The all-new Audi A6L produced at the joint venture FAW-Volkswagen is designed to appeal to all luxury buyers in China with its combination of powerful performance, fuel economy and interior comfort.
The car has four engine options with displacements ranging from 2 to 3 liters to meet the diverse demands of local customers.
Among the options is the all-new 2.5-liter V6 FSI engine specially developed for China. It can produce maximum output of 140 kW and peak torque of 250 Nm.
Paired with an eight-speed multitronic automatic transmission, the engine consumes only 7.5 liter fuel every 100 kilometers.
The car is also available with a six-speed manual transmission or seven-speed S tronic dual clutch transmission.
The 2.8 FSI and 3.0 TFSI engines both have been improved for better fuel efficiency without sacrificing the performance.
The 2.8 FSI engine has peak torque of 280 Nm, but its carbon dioxide emission is 35g per km less than the previous generation engine.
The 3.0 TFSI engine has 220 kW in power and 440 Nm of torque. It accelerates from zero to 100 km/h in just 5.9 seconds, 0.7 seconds faster than the pervious generation, yet emits 43g less carbon dioxide every kilometer.
A start-stop electronic control system is standard on the all-new A6L to further reduce fuel consumption. It automatically shuts down the engine when the car is stopped, cutting carbon dioxide emissions by 10 g/km and reducing fuel consumption by 0.4 liter every 100 km.
The all-new A6L is 5,015 mm long, 1,874 mm wide and 1,455 mm high, with a wheelbase of 3,012 mm. Compared with the previous generation, the new model has additional width of 19 mm and additional length of 67 mm in wheelbase. Yet it is 20 mm shorter and 30 mm lower than the previous model.
