BEIJING - The import and export value of the Chinese electronics and information technology industry reached $954.6 billion in the first 10 months, up 3.3 percent from the same period last year, official data revealed on Thursday.
Among the total, export of electronic goods grew 3.9 percent year-on-year to $559.7 billion, which was 0.5 percentage points higher than that of the first three quarters, according to statistics released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
Meanwhile, import of electronic products grew 2.5 percent to $394.9 billion, said the ministry.
In the first 10 months, the export volume of telecommunication equipment export saw a fast growth of 12.9 percent year on year to $115.8 billion while that of computers grew 1.9 percent to $191.5 billion, the MIIT data showed.
In the same period, however, exports of home appliances experienced a drop of 7.9 percent to $71.6 billion. Though exports of electronic devices grew 11.6 percent to $69.6 billion, those of electronic materials saw a rapid decline of 20.8 percent to $4.4 billion.
