HANOI -- About 200 Chinese enterprises gathered to showcase their products at the 12th China Machinery Fair (ChinaMac Fair 2012) in Vietnam's southern Ho Chi Minh City, some 1,130 km south of capital Hanoi on Wednesday.
Apart from traditional machinery and equipment products on display, this year's fair will see a large numbers of the welding, cutting products and metal processing machine at the Metal and Weld Pavilion.
Being co-held by the Vietnam Advertisement and Fair Exhibition Company, China Light Industrial Corporation for Foreign Economic and Technical Cooperation, the Hong Kong's Yue Zhao International Exhibition Company, and the support of Vietnam's Ministry of Industry and Trade, the four-day fair is expected to draw about 10,000 visitors.
In 2011, many cooperation contracts were signed during the fair, worth $150 million.
In recent years, the economic cooperation between Vietnam and China has seen a positive growth. In 2011, the Vietnam-China bilateral trade turnover reached $35.7 billion, up 30.7 percent over 2010.
So far, China has invested in 842 projects in Vietnam with total capital of over $4.3 billion, ranking 14 out of 96 countries and territories invested in Vietnam.
