BEIJING - China and Japan place great value in the high-level economic dialogue between the two countries, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said Thursday.
Spokesman Liu Weimin made the remark at a daily press briefing when asked to comment on Japanese reports that Chinese Vice Premier Wang Qishan will attend the fourth China-Japan high-level economic dialogue to be held in Japan.
Liu said the dialogue is an important mechanism for both countries as it helps strengthen economic policy communication as well as promoting economic and trade cooperation.
The date of the fourth China-Japan high-level economic dialogue is currently being negotiated, Liu said.
The third China-Japan high-level economic dialogue was held in 2010.
