In May, shipments from Japan to China climbed 24.5 percent, the quickest rate in four months, to 1.03 trillion yen (US$8.33 billion).
Honda Motor Co's sales in China surged 33 percent in May, led by a fivefold increase in demand for its Civic compact car. The Tokyo-based automaker's sales in China are up 39 percent this year.
