China and the United States have agreed to launch a new round of discussions on the Bilateral Investment Treaty negotiations in China in January, the Ministry of Commerce said on Monday.
"Based on the 10th round of the BIT negotiations held in Washington in October 2013, which marked the first substantive talks since 2008, the new round of talks will make more progress," said Shen Danyang, spokesman for the ministry.
China and the US agreed to start substantive discussions on the China-US BIT during the fifth round of the China-US Strategic and Economic Dialogue, which was held in July.
