The European Union announced Monday it will terminate its anti-dumping investigation of Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) imports from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan.
The draft decision, which proposes to cancel the temporary anti-dumping duty on Chinese PVA, will not come into effect until it is passed by the European Commission (EC).
The EC launched an anti-dumping investigation on PVA worth more than $33 million imported from the Chinese mainland and Taiwan between October 1, 2005 and September 30, 2006.
The commission imposed a six-month anti-dumping duty against Chinese PVA at a rate of 10 percent in September 2007 after three Chinese enterprises failed to obtain market economy treatment in the initial arbitration.
