China has ended five years of anti-dumping measures on polyester chips and polyester fiber imports from the Republic of Korea (ROK), according to the Ministry of Commerce.

The rule took effect on February 3, the ministry said in an announcement, adding the measures had expired naturally after five years if no one filed an appeal.

In response to concerns from the domestic industry, China launched its anti-dumping investigation on August 3, 2001, and decided to take temporary measures on October 22, 2002.

In 2003, China leveled five years of punitive anti-dumping tariffs, ranging from two to 48 percent.

Polyester chips and fiber are used in making plastics and synthetic textiles.
