Athletes run toward best times in Beijing marathon

The 2024 Beijing Marathon commenced on Sunday morning at Tian'anmen Square in Beijing with approximately 30,000 runners competing in the 42.195-kilometer race.
Ethiopian athlete Lemi Berhanu Hayle clinched the men's championship with a time of 2 hours, 9 minutes, and 16 seconds, while Kenyan runner Vicoty Chepngeno took the women's title in 2 hours, 21 minutes, and 56 seconds.
Chinese competitor Chen Tianyu marked his second consecutive domestic victory at the Beijing Marathon, finishing as the top domestic runner. Liu Min also excelled, achieving a personal best of 2 hours, 28 minutes, and 36 seconds to secure the women's domestic title.
