A large cluster of precious Japanese yew trees has been discovered in the primeval forests of Changbai Mountain in Northeast China’s Jilin province. Among them, six trees with trunk diameters exceeding one meter are over a thousand years old. The Japanese yew is a rare and endangered plant species that has existed on earth for 2.5 million years and is classified as a first-class protected plant in China.
