During a recent meeting convened by the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism on May 16, it was announced that Beijing is poised to delve deeper into the rich cultural and tourism resources surrounding the Great Wall.

The bureau outlined its commitment to enhancing the visitor experience along the 445-kilometer Great Wall National Scenic Route by optimizing public service facilities. Additionally, efforts will be made to capitalize on the historical significance of the Great Wall and the ancient relics along its path to introduce new high-quality tourist routes to cater to diverse interests.

In a bid to preserve and promote intangible cultural heritage projects within the Great Wall cultural belt, the bureau pledged its support to these initiatives. The meeting also put forth plans to launch six distinctive Great Wall relics trips and urged travel agencies to innovate and develop a wider array of tour products to attract visitors.

Furthermore, the meeting highlighted the construction of premium homestays aimed at integrating the protection and sustainable utilization of the Great Wall with rural revitalization efforts. This initiative seeks to offer tourists a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the cultural and historical essence of the Great Wall while contributing to the development of local communities.
